1921, Cast bronze, Commemorative medallion, 114.3mm, 353.0g., Rim-punched; K•GœTz

Obverse:  "Auf zur Arbeit!" (Let's Go To Work!) Two German workers busy themselves by erecting a newly sculpted, stone eagle. K-GOETZ at base of wall and to the left and right.

Reverse:  Two hands are shown clasping a small sheaf of wheat, symbolizing a common bond and a fruitfull life. Inscription by Ernst von Wildenbruch, "Menschenseele, so ganz en-tlaubt, Menschenseele, die nicht mehr glaubt, glaube ans Schaffen! Nicht zum Erraffen und zum Erjagen, nicht u um blutende Wunden zu schlagen, um zu erbauen die bessere Weltdazu, als Brüder den Brüdern gesellt, dienet der Arbeit!" (Man's soul, so completely bare, Man's soul, who does not believe anymore; believe in your work then! Not in snatching and grabbing at, not in striking a bleeding wound, but to build a better world as brothers in work). Dated 1921.
